Casual Chair is a general-purpose wooden chair designed to bring a sense of casualness to everyday spaces, enhancing comfort and relaxation in dining areas and home workspaces. The concept combines curvilinear and linear forms to express the charm of the extraordinary ordinary. Crafted from natural maple, the chair offers a warm, tactile presence, with water-drop-shaped front legs that transition seamlessly into the armrests and backrest, inviting intuitive interaction.
The ergonomic design features a 95-degree seat-to-backrest angle, ensuring a naturally comfortable posture for extended use. The gently sculpted curves of the armrests and backrest balance relaxation with usability, while the oval backrest encourages effortless movement and repositioning. Iterative refinements, including mock-ups and detailed drawings, were used to perfect the chair’s form and function, creating a harmonious balance between aesthetics and everyday usability.
